They always say, ‘the third one is a charm’. Well, on Saturday, October 27 at the Mt. Hope Event Center Steve Chupp and his team of auctioneers and furniture movers occupied the Event Center and Horse Arena building at Mt. Hope Auction for the fourth time since moving the sale to Mt. Hope. And the first, second, third and now the fourth were all a charm in hindsight.
On the 27th, 2,800 lots of furniture were auctioned to over 1,000 buyers at a day-long sale. The buildings were packed with people as well as row after row of quality Amish-made furniture. And those buyers just weren’t from Ohio. Buyers from Pennsylvania, North Carolina and Michigan all piled their way to our little slice of heaven in Mt. Hope to purchase furniture and take in the culture.
It turned out to be a great day for an inside auction as it pretty well rained most of the day, but that didn’t stop the bids from rolling in. Many amazingly built pieces were seen, bought and hauled away that same evening.
